GaraFlex consists of synthetic rubber panels with an adhesive backing. Simply cut to size and place into each cavity of the door. Unlike other garage door insulation products which only cater for a conventional garage door, GaraFlex has been uniquely designed to fit even the non-standard sectional doors that have more panels or wider panels.

Garage doors are the largest opening in your home however they have very little thermal protection which allows the external weather conditions to impact the temperature inside your home. Most garage doors are made from metal, which does a very good job at amplifying the temperature of its surroundings which then creates a flow on effect to the garage and rest of the home. By insulating your garage door you can effectively regulate the temperature in your garage all year round; it'll keep it cool in summer and warm in the winter!

Single Garage Door: Approximately 6-8kgs (Based on using 8 sheets of GaraFlex)

Double Garage Door: Approximately 13-16kgs (Based on using 16 sheets of GaraFlex)

In 99% of cases no adjustment is required. You can easily test your door before purchasing:

1. With the garage door closed, attach approximately 7kg for a single door or 15kg for a double door
   
2. Press the opener and let the door run normally
   
3. If the door opens as normal, your springs will handle the insulation just fine
   

If the door struggles to open but you still wish to install GaraFlex. No problem, after installation, simply organise a qualified garage door technician to adjust the springs.

Instantly! As soon as the final piece of insulation has been installed and the garage door is closed, you'll feel the difference.

By providing a barrier against heat transfer, GaraFlex Insulation reduces the amount of heat lost through the garage door in winter and keeps heat out during summer. This helps to lower the overall energy needed to heat or cool the garage and adjacent living spaces

For insulation to work effectively, it needs a complete seal across the entire garage door. GaraFlex is flexible, allowing it to manoeuvre neatly behind the metal uprights & braces on sectional garage doors. This means every section can be fully covered, creating a consistent thermal barrier. Rigid polystyrene boards cannot bend. Due to this, they are usually undercut to fit around the metal uprights & braces. This leaves exposed gaps; even minor gaps reduce insulation performance as heat easily transfers through uninsulated sections.

We recommend its use for sectional garage doors however as GaraFlex is self adhesive, you can have a go sticking it to anything!

With the right care and maintenance, we expect your GaraFlex to last 50 years or more. It is resistant to moisture, wear & changes in temperature

Rubber insulation has been used for over 50 years to insulate both hot and cold plumbing pipes in residential and industrial applications. It has proven its worth, stood the test of time and remains the first choice for garage door insulation. 

Yes! Although the main indication for garage door insulation is to regulate the temperature in the garage, it also does reduce the noise both from inside and outside the garage. GaraFlex absorbs sound, minimising the impact of external noise like traffic or construction and reducing the echoing sounds within your garage.
